The TP-Link MC111CS is a media converter designed to convert 10/100Base-TX copper media to or from 100BASE-FX fiber. Utilizing WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology, the MC111CS transmits and receives data using just one fiber cable, reducing cabling costs by 50%. It is built for single-mode fiber with an SC-Type connector and complies with IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards. The MC111CS operates at a full wire speed forwarding rate and supports the longwave (LX) laser standard, transmitting at 1550 nm for data transmission and receiving at 1310 nm. For proper functionality, the device at the opposite end must transmit at 1310 nm and receive at 1550 nm. A compatible TP-Link media converter, such as the MC112CS, can be used in conjunction with the MC111CS. The front panel includes status LEDs, automatic MDI/MDI-X for the TX port, and automatic duplex mode negotiation. The MC111CS supports fiber optic communication over long distances, up to 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) using single-mode fiber. The TP-Link MC111CS 10/100Mbps WDM Media Converter comes with a 1-year warranty.
