The D-Link HTB-3100B Fiber Optic Media Converter is a 10/100M Singlemode Single Fiber Converter designed to convert Ethernet optical-electronic signals between a 10/100M UTP interface (TX) and a 100M Fiber interface (FX). This allows traditional 10/100M Fast Ethernet to be extended up to 90km via a single optical fiber link. The excellent performance and quality of the product are due to the use of the latest IC technology from Taiwan. It must be used in pairs, as the transmitted and received optical signals have different wavelengths. Equipped with 6 LED indicator lights, the converter provides comprehensive monitoring of its operational status, making it easy for users to check network conditions. Designed specifically for network end-users, the converter transmits optical signals through a single fiber, effectively doubling the data transmission capacity compared to twin fiber setups. Its auto-negotiation function enables the UTP port to automatically select between 10M or 100M speeds, and Full Duplex or Half Duplex modes. The UTP port supports MDI/MDI-X auto crossover and flow control, with the ability to handle 1552-byte packets. The converter also includes an internal circuit that helps prevent damage caused by lightning, greatly reducing the risk of damage from thunderbolt induction. Users have the option to choose between internal or external power supplies. The D-Link HTB-3100B Fiber Optic Media Converter (Single Unit) is sold without a warranty.
