The device includes gain control knobs and -20dB pads for each input, along with the XYH-6 X/Y capsule that provides a secondary input via a stereo 1/8" Mic/Line In mini phone jack. The H8 supports phantom power for the four main XLR inputs (+12/+24/+48V), and the included mic capsule provides two high-quality unidirectional mics for capturing sound directly in front of the recorder. The Zoom mic capsule system allows for easy capsule swapping to ensure the right mic for any situation. A large color LCD touchscreen display makes navigation easy, and the app-driven interface adapts to your recording needs. The H8 records directly to SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards up to 512GB, capturing up to 24-bit/96kHz audio. It includes built-in effects such as low-cut filtering, compression, and limiting. The recorder also functions as a multichannel and stereo USB audio interface for PC/Mac/iPad.
